51Թ provost and senior vice president for academic affairs Darrell Kruger has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to study higher education in India. Kruger will participate in the Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrator’s Seminar, which aims to provide American higher education administrators with first-hand knowledge of the Indian higher education system.
The participants in the program will have an opportunity to have close interactions with their counterparts at Indian institutions, exchange thoughts and ideas, and understand the current framework of government policy for higher education institutions in India. The seminar will act as a springboard for future initiatives involving Indian institutions.
Kruger will spend two weeks in India in March 2025. The seminar begins in Mumbai, followed by visits to educational institutions in the city of Coimbatore and concludes in Delhi.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to help further grow international education at 51Թ by leveraging our program and research strengths with Indian universities,” Kruger said. “Participation in Fulbright will give me direct access to potential leaders and partners to build holistic institution-to-institution relationships.”
Fulbright U.S. Scholars are faculty, researchers, administrators and established professionals teaching or conducting research in affiliation with institutes abroad. Fulbright Scholars engage in cutting-edge research and expand their professional networks, often continuing research collaborations started abroad and laying the groundwork for forging future partnerships between institutions.
