Presenters
All current faculty, staff, and students at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø may participate. All academic disciplines are encouraged to participate. Local high school students may participate if a 51³Ô¹ÏÍø staff or faculty member registers on their behalf and uploads their presentation.
Work needs to be completed under the auspices of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. This includes but is not limited to course/group projects, funded/non-funded projects, and projects completed in conjunction with internships/partnerships that are part of a 51³Ô¹ÏÍø collaborative.
51³Ô¹ÏÍø students will be eligible for prizes, including the Privateer Choice awards, Tolmas Prize awards, and cash prizes in every category. Those who place in their categories may be invited to the ULS Academic Summit.
Throughout the fall semester, the Office of Research will host virtual office hours for assistance with pre-recording presentations virtual symposium.
Group Presentations
Groups must identify one person to be the lead presenter. Only the lead presenter should register; the lead presenter should list any co-presenters and/or non-presenting collaborators.
Judges
If you are (1) a 51³Ô¹ÏÍø faculty or staff member, or (2) a 51³Ô¹ÏÍø graduate student, or (3) a subject matter expert in the private sector, we'd like you to help us assess our program participants.
Judges will be asked to evaluate participants' presentations using a standardized rubric. Judges will evaluate a small subset of presentations, and the scores will be averaged to determine the winners.
If you are a faculty mentor, you cannot judge the students you mentored.
