About
James W. Logan is a Professor of Strategic Management in the Department of Management at the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. He earned B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Louisiana State University and a Masters in Public Administration from Texas Christian University.
Jim is currently the College of Business Administration Faculty Senate Executive Committee representative. During his time in the College of Business Administration at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, he has served as Dean, The G. John and Margaret Veta Professor in Strategic Management, Associate Dean, MBA Program Director, Director of Executive Education programs, and Chair of the Graduate Programs Committee. He is a past president of the Southwest Academy of Management, and past chair of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Research and Technology Park faculty advisory committee.
Professor Logan has been involved in developing and teaching in several programs at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, including the MBA Executive program and its branch programs in Kingston, Jamaica, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, the Masters in Engineering Management program in the College of Engineering at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, the MS in Health Care Administration in the College of Business at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, and several innovative classes in the above programs.
Professor Logan's strengths lie in the areas of executive leadership, program development, and working with students to explore complex subjects in ways that make them meaningful to the student.
Research Interests
The effect of technological change on business strategy, increasing effectiveness of technology-oriented teams in complex environments, risk perception, and its effect on decision-making.
